Love and pain
Such is the way of things
That you cannot love without pain
Without longing or misery
For fear of never loving again
Such is the way of things
That you cannot know pain without love
For everything else pales in comparison
To someone walking away when they have had enough
They are one, they are the same
They are beauty, and they are agony
They are the objects of our misguided affection
They are hot and then cold
That cause us to be utterly lost
And yet, they are our only direction
