Post existential modernist depression

Might sound like a clever title
But like most fancy words doesn't mean a thing
The world is full of everything
And the universe is full of nothing

We taste, we bleed like water
Rushing off nowhere to start again
We break all our bones
We change yet stay the same

I would want colour in the world
Rather than a dismal grey
I would not look into the abyss
But I cannot look away

Realism is not depression
For the eyes cannot choose what to see
As it's always been proclaimed
Perception is reality

Show me where the switch is
Rather than talking of the light
Maybe you just stopped looking
And I've always been right

That is in fact worse than being wrong
Knowing that the illusions are just as they appear
Phantoms we grasp at in the gloom
And in fact,  there never was anything here
