Ghost town

I feel like a ghost town
Once where the homes were full
The windows now are boarded up
The wind howls in the street
The parks no longer filled with smiles
On the pavement lies a tin cup

The brown dirt against the walls
Roads cracked with grass coming through
A swing grinds in the afternoon light
The years just ticking by
Where lovers once walked
Now people avoid the sight

A car rattles in the dawn
A dog barks somewhere
Away from what it called home
No one's coming back
And this will return to the dust
Here you'll find me alone
