Seasons
I can hear the silence
The quiet little discontent
Pleading in the wind
The hopes by which we live
The forgetfulness of yesterday
Forgive me for I have sinned
The hallways are empty
The keys of the piano still echo
As I lay down on the floor
Staring at the ceiling
Eyes closed but never sleeping
The sun creeping away under the door
The glasses still stand on the table
Where once your hand rested
Dust piling up, ashtrays overflow
There's a smell of rain in the air
I can taste the coffee and cigarettes
I remember the snow, so much snow
I've been here from summer
Through autumn, winter and spring
And now it's summer again
I have lost the will to stand
I have lost the will to dream
And so here on the floor I'll remain
