The clearing
There's a man standing in a clearing
Lamenting all that we was
The payment has been made
But he paid more than he lost
Memories line his pockets
The thoughts choke his breathe
He used to look for answers
Now he just looks for death
He stands between the trees
The whole sky above
But he's done dreaming
Believing, in love
His hair is all matted
Clothes rank from being unkept
No forgetfullness or respite
Just this life, spent
